Stephen Durand, CRNA, APRN

TMS and Ketamine Specialist

Stephen Durand, CRNA, APRN, offers behavioral health services to patients at Dura Medical in Naples, Florida. Stephen moved to Naples in 2004 to attend Wolford College, where he received his training as a certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA) and simultaneously earned a master’s degree from Florida Gulf Coast University.

During his training, Stephen developed a love for obstetric (OB) anesthesia and decided to specialize in it. He has also trained hundreds of anesthesia students as a clinical instructor.

During this time of working in OB, Stephen became very familiar with using ketamine as a pharmacological agent for surgical pain. When he discovered it was being used to treat mood and pain disorders in outpatient settings, he sought out a former colleague using ketamine to successfully treat people who were once thought to have been treatment-resistant.

Stephen took an extensive training course and became certified in ketamine to treat patients suffering from depression, suicidal ideation, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, and many pain disorders. At that time, no clinics in Naples offered ketamine infusion therapy, and Stephen was convinced that Naples needed one. He and his wife Liz, a registered nurse (RN), started Dura Medical, LLC in 2018 to help as many people as possible experience healing from mood disorders and chronic pain.

Kathryn Hart, APRN, PMHNP-BC, CPNP-PC

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner & TMS and Ketamine Specialist

Katie Hart, DNP, ARPN, PMHNP-BC, CPNP-PC, is a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner at Dura Medical, a behavioral health practice located in Naples, Florida.

She received her Bachelor of Science in health sciences & health promotion with a minor in public health from The Ohio State University in 2011. She then completed a Master’s of Nursing at Ohio State and became certified as a primary care pediatric nurse practitioner in 2015. She obtained additional certification in psychiatry and her Doctorate of Nursing Practice in August 2018 from the University of North Florida.

Katie has held various positions in the mental health field for the last decade, providing invaluable lessons that have helped solidify her passion for psychiatry. While completing her undergraduate degree, she worked as an applied behavioral analysis (ABA) therapist providing in-home behavioral therapy to children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder. After becoming a registered nurse, she began working at an adult inpatient psychiatric hospital outside Columbus, Ohio. Her experience working as a psychiatric nurse taught her a great deal about mood disorders, including but not limited to anxiety disorders, major depression, and substance abuse disorders.

When she’s not caring for patients, Katie enjoys spending time with friends, family, and her three rescue dogs. She also enjoys reading, spending time by the pool or beach, and cheering on The Ohio State Buckeyes in the fall!
